Chronopost obtained both the ISO9001 quality management system and ISO14001environment management system certifications, in an investment to consolidate its leadership in CEP market, keeping the company’s commitment with sustainable development and the continuous improvement of quality service to its customers.
The certifications were assigned by SGS ICS - International Certification Services and concern to parcel express shipping.
Chronopost starts 2012 as it ended 2011: leading the CEP market in Portugal in terms of traffic. Chronopost Portugal consolidated, in the 1st quarter of 2012, the leadership in this market, with 30.8% of all domestic and export parcels processed in Portugal, according to the latest quarterly information report available from ANACOM (www.anacom.pt), the National Regulator. Compared with the same period of 2011, Chronopost Portugal won 0.5% of market share while its main rival (the express subsidiary of the local public post) lost 0.7%.
Under the policy of expansion of Pick me! network, Chronopost Portugal expanded its network with 40 new stores. Since May, customers and consignees can count on 400 parcel shops all over the country to send/receive their parcels. This expansion aims, together with the launch of other services in Pick me! offer, to achieve leadership in e-commerce business, an area with a strong growth in Portugal.
Chronopost Portugal won the La Poste Quality Awards and the GeoPost Quality Awards, with the innovation “Survey”, a unique and innovative service that allows conducting surveys to the receivers of customers through PSMs. Both awards aim to reward the best practices in the Group's various subsidiaries throughout Europe, and the ceremonies of presentation of trophies took place in Paris on May 27 and June 22 respectively.
